What do you mean by the past tense? Are you referring to the past, a hundred years before today, when Sultan Abdul Hamid ruled over half the planet? Or when the rulers of Europe took over the government with the permission and appointment of the Ottoman Caliph.

Or even before the emperors of the kingdom saved the world from the attacks of the Tartars and Mongols?

Or even before the Abbasids ruled half the world?

Or the time of the Umayyads even before that ... or the time of Syedna Omar when you ruled most of the world?
